Curamando Netherlands is expanding its AI Engineering capabilities. We design, prototype and build AI-powered tools and software that help clients transform the way they work, from advanced GenAI workflows and custom agents to production-ready AI applications with real business impact. You will be part of a global team of more than 30 AI engineers, with nearly half based in the Netherlands. Your role as GenAI Engineer

As an GenAI Engineer at Curamando, you contribute directly to building the next generation of AI-powered products and workflows for our clients. You combine strong software engineering fundamentals with modern AI capabilities, from integrating LLMs and vision models to building scalable pipelines and experimenting with new techniques.

You translate ambiguous ideas into robust solutions, evaluate where AI truly adds value, and help clients understand what is possible, feasible and responsible. You will collaborate in multidisciplinary teams across AI, strategy, product design and development, analytics and marketing, and you will play an active role in shaping our growing AI practice.

What will you do?

You will:

• Design, prototype, build and ship AI-powered applications, workflows and agents for start-ups, scale-ups, challengers and enterprise clients.

• Take ownership of parts of project delivery, ensuring outcomes are delivered on scope and timeline.

• Implement and integrate foundation models (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Fal.ai and others) and evaluate when these are suitable for a given use case.

• Build reliable software and cloud infrastructure (Azure, GCP or AWS) required for AI products.

• Set up pipelines for evaluation, monitoring, logging and benchmarking of models and prompts.

• Work with pre-trained models and datasets, and fine-tune, adapt or combine them when off-the-shelf solutions fall short.

• Collaborate with strategists, designers, engineers and marketeers to turn client challenges into working AI solutions.

• Validate feasibility and risks of AI use cases, including data security, privacy, licensing and responsible AI considerations.

• Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitate and lead client and internal workshops.

• Contribute to Curamando’s internal AI frameworks, playbooks, knowledge sessions and engineering standards.

What do you bring?

You have:

• At least 4 years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in building software products or AI-powered systems.

• Hands-on experience of LLMs, vector databases, embeddings, prompt engineering, retrieval setups, fine-tuning and model evaluation methods.

• Experience integrating AI services (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, Meta and Fal.ai).

• Strong software engineering skills in TypeScript and/or Python, with experience building real backend systems and data pipelines.

• Proven experience deploying scalable applications in Azure, GCP or AWS, and running them reliably in production.

• Experience with Docker, CI/CD and modern DevOps practices, and the ability to move a solution from “it works on my laptop” to “it runs reliably in the cloud”.

• A pragmatic mindset, and the ability to judge when AI is the right tool and when it is not.

• The ability to turn vague client questions into concrete technical solutions.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

• Curiosity, creativity and enthusiasm for exploring new AI capabilities and patterns.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with machine learning, computer vision, generative images or multimodal models.

• Experience as a full-stack developer.

• Experience in consultancy or client-facing environments.

• For this role, the all-in monthly salary is typically between €5,150 and €6,350, depending on your experience and profile. This includes a maximum pension plan, holiday allowance and internet allowance. More senior candidates may be placed higher within our salary framework.
